WiiFit doesn’t keep in mind that muscle is heavier than fat

May 23rd, 2008 by admin

WiiFit, Nintendo, Wii, Wii Balance Board, BMI, WiiFat, WiiFitnessHere and there you read stories about little girls disappointed when the Wii Balance Board and WiiFit told them that they are fat. Just keep in mind that the Wii Balance Board doesn’t know everything about your body. It’s a great piece of technology, but there’s a few things it doesn’t know. The most important thing it doesn’t know is how much muscles you have in your body. Muscles are four times heavier than fat, so somebody with a lot of muscles might be told that he/she is fat even though that it isn’t true. The guy in this video isn’t too happy with what the Wii Balance Board tells him…

Nintendo of Europe: Gamers, don’t give up and keep searching for Wii Fit!

April 16th, 2008 by admin

Wii Fit, Nintendo, Wii Fitness, Wii Balance Board, Wii Sports, Lose Weight, Wii

With [tag]Nintendo[/tag]’s [tag]Wii[/tag] and [tag]Wii Fit[/tag] being so popular, it’s sometimes really hard to find a copy of a game. There’s still a lot of problems with Wii supplies and people still trying to get a Wii in their household, and the same problems will pop up with the launch of Wii Fit and the [tag]Wii Balance Board[/tag] in Europe.

As with all our launches, we are working very hard with all our retail partners to be as open and as transparent as possible with further deliveries, we’re disappointed if even one person can’t get hold of one of our products and we are doing everything we can to ensure we have as much stock as possible coming into the UK and Ireland not just at launch, but continually, to try and minimise any potential disappointment as much as possible.” - [tag]Nintendo[/tag] of Europe

Try to reserve your Wii Fit bundle with the Wii Balance Board to avoid disappointment.

The first [tag]Wii Fit[/tag] games with the [tag]Wii Balance Board[/tag] are showing up in European stores, and that gives us some boxshots to look at! The design of the artwork on the PAL-box is a lot more simple than the fancy US box with the [tag]Wii Fit[/tag] lifestyle pictures on it. Notice that there’s also no [tag]Touch! Generations[/tag] sign on the PAL box.

The Guardian tested three methods to lose weight, and one of them was off course [tag]Wii Fit[/tag] and the [tag]Wii Balance Board[/tag] from Nintendo. The person who played Wii Fit for the [tag]Wii[/tag] said she had a great time working out, but she probably didn’t take enough time to get the proper amount of exercise to lose weight playing Wii Fit and the minigames in the game.

Verdict: It’s fun, with some challenging aspects. Did I lose weight? No, but I might if I carry on.
