WII should develop a plus size board for people of heavier sizes, there is defiantly a customer base; they did the same thing for dance dance revolution! In reality most heavy set people see the fact that wii has a weight limit that its simply hey you your to fat to enjoy our game! we dont want fat peoples money!

stop feeling sorry for yourself - obviously overweight people are overweight because lack of exercise amongts other things. I highly doubt anyoneone over 250lbs would care to use the wii. If they really want to get a wii maybe they can start by walking outside slowly and then when they have the energy to do the wii they can.

  3. Logan Says:

@Chrissy - stop feeling so judgmental.

Overweight people are more likely to exercise in private instead of doing it outdoors. Raven is right, there is a huge base for a plus size board - not just for overweight people but also for people who are healthy and weigh 250lbs.

  4. Jen Says:

The weight limit is 300 pounds at least on the one i bought. I thought that was pretty reasonable I didn’t think it would be able to support that much.

Ignorance is golden. I just love how people try to put others into a stereotypical category because they are fat. Everyone who is fat must eat donuts and sit on the couch all day…if they would get off the couch and walk around the block…seriously all those are well over played. I work full-time, go to school full-time, walk at night, eat fruit and vegetables. The couch might see my ass no more than an hour a day but I weigh 325 lbs. Figure that one out!! I am so sick of all these health machines and fitness plans that are focuses around the skinny. It’s time to get creative people and really start to help those who truly are overweight! If wii wants to market to the correct consumers, they will become intelligent enough to create one from everyone, not just the “lighter” weights. Really prove how innovative you are.

Amy, I understand your feelings completely. I had a friend in high school who was over weight and she lived with me for a time. We ate the same foods in the same amounts and marched in band together yet she couldn’t loose a pound. I am in the Wii over weight category and trying hard to reach a healthy weight. Wii has motivated me to get off my butt and work out. It can do the same for the morbidly obese and it should be an option for them. They need this game as much or more than the rest of us. Wii needs a larger board with a higher weight limit.

I think buying the protection plan is probably worth it, whether or not a heavier person will be using it as it is getting stepped on it will probably take on some damage later on in its product lifetime. Anyways its a great way to play video games.

I am 6′ 2″ 380. I am built like an ox. I can deadlift 800 and bench press 400. But I have a gut that I would like to get rid of through aerobics and wii fit would be great. When I walk or run outside people in the neighborhood laugh at me. I think it is not fair that they make something to help you be healthy and lose weight and then put a weight limit on it.

Well being obese myself~the wording itself doesn’t bother me. I have been overweight my entire life. YES!! I would use Wii fit if it would support me. Those who haven’t ever been overweight do not know what it is like for us and how we feel. Some naturally can not lose the weight but in the privacy of our own home we could use the wii fit and get more exercise that not. Some say walk around outside etc etc. well we have a small cul de sac and a busy road with no sidewalks. I would LOVE if Wii fit was made for larger sized people. If you have never been overweight please dont comment on our size. Some may have health reasons that affect their weight etc. Just because we are overweight doesn’t mean we dont care about ourselves. How many overly obese people would be happy in a gym?? its embarassing for us, so help us not demean us~

  12. JD Says:

I cannot believe the narrowmindedness of some of these posters on here… “people over 250 probably wouldn’t want to use wii fit anyway” Excuse me? I am near 300 and my husband is just over 300! I LOVE wii fit! I am hoping to use it to lose some weight, but I was so disappointed for my husband when he tried to play the wii fit with the kids and was told he was too big to play :( How demoralizing in front of his children no less. Wii definitely needs to make a board that supports more weight so that we can ALL work on getting healthier!

Is there not a way we can talk to Nintendo or whoever manufactures the game? We bought ours last night and I love it so much my husband couldn’t wait to exercise with me. He weighs 340 and is, like the gentleman above, 6′3″ and built like an ox. But he got on the board and it told him he was over the max. The board put a big, exclamated note on the tv about him being over the max! He put his head down and said, “Guess I’m just a fat a**”. I felt aweful. We live in a small town. There is no gym and the park is run down. We can’t walk in the winter time because it is dark when he goes to work and dark when he comes home. Whoever thinks that overweight people just sit around and feel sorry for themselves should
come to our house. I’m pretty sure I could kick their butts and I’m overweight. I suffer from PCOS. It’s a hormonal syndrome that makes it easy to gain weight and very difficult to lose weight or have children. I drink 8 glasses of water each day, exercise and eat lots of fruits and vegetables. I’ve played sports all my life too. So don’t think someone who’s overweight has just given up on life. I don’t think you would like it much If we judged you on a stereotype.
