During a press conference in Tokyo Nintendo has announced that its upcoming healthy [tag]Wii[/tag] game Wii Fit will be released in North America sometime in April. European gamers will have to wait to get started with the Wii Balance Board and [tag]Wii Fit[/tag] until June. [tag]Nintendo[/tag] of America hasn’t announced a price point yet or Balance Board modifications yet.

Since its launch, Wii Fit bundled with the [tag]Wii Balance Board[/tag] has been sold over 1,2 million times in Japan. Compared to some other games this isn’t extraordinary, but it’s an extremely high number for a game that’s being packed with a piece of hardware. [tag]Wii Fit[/tag] is still dominating Japanese software charts.

Hori, a publisher of gaming peripherals, has announced a nice gadgets for [tag]Wii Fit[/tag] users. Thought the Wii Balance Board is a steady piece of equipment this Hori no-slip Yoga mat for [tag]Wii Fit[/tag] isn’t unnecessary luxury. The Wii Fit mat from Hori will go on sale in February for $34,90 at Play-Asia.

We’re already January 2008 but Nintendo of America still hasn’t announced an official Wii Fit release date yet. We’re patient, and so is Nintendo World Report. They have made a funny article named ‘The Road to Wii Fit - Basic Training‘ with a list of games that should help you get in shape for when [tag]Wii Fitness[/tag] arrives!
